That's stock figures with new EPA regulation. Of course it depends on driving style, area, etc. 28mpg highway is pretty stunning.
If you have a stock car ways to really improve your gas mileage is to get a full tune up, proper inflated tires, exhaust work (our stock exhaust system is by far the worst thing on our cars) and BFI.

the only things changed with the engine vs prior - full syn mobil 1 5W30, redline rear diff fluid, amsoil trans fluid, and NGK copper plugs... the only other thing to note is that there is some corrosion on the exhaust just behind the primary cats that has led to two 1/4" holes in the exhaust... I plan on building an exhaust for her soon.... a lot of it I attribute to driving, but who knows...
edit: my most recent trip to California and back, I averaged 26 mpg - that was in the hills... (Las Vegas is 2800' altitude, you climb to like 7000' on the trip, then descend to LA, then return)

I filled up my gas tank today until the pump "clicked" then I just filled it up and rounded it to the nearest even dollar. The total gallon was about 18.1. So that leaves about 2 gallons left. I was just curious, how much more can you fill up after that pump clicks? I am trying to calculate my average MPG to get my tank filled up as much as possible to see if I can get 400 miles to a full tank. Since I put in 18 gallons, I could probably go about 360 miles until I have to fill up again.
Depending on where you buy gasoline, you can't always depend on consistent mileage because some stations have a gasoline-ethanol blend that can drastically affect your mileage. IMHO - this makes your exercise problematical and futile.
BTW - what's magic about 400 miles per tank? Maybe you should try for 600km. 600 is a "bigger" number and 600km/tank is easier to achieve.

my 95 sc300 gets better mileage then my 97 sc300 =( i get about 320-340 on a full tank in my sc300 and it has 250,000 miles!; my 97 sc300 90k after a full tune it gets about 300 on a full tank if im lucky... i thought that was bad.. but i see you guys with 200.. and im like O_O... changing the fuel filter helps alot thou!

I did a search and this is def. the answer I was looking for since the car I just bought is used obviously and stinks of gas....
my question is why is the smell stronger when the tanks full or just abot empty? But not as strong when it is half full?

How much money you have to spend? Charcoal canisters are $380 from the dealer and every time you overfill it backfills into the charcoal canister causing a fuel smell that will not go away until you replace the canister (reminder: $380 each time you replace it). You'll get lucky a few times, then once there is enough fuel backed up in there on a warm day you'll start to smell fuel randomly and then you're on your way to the dealer for a $400 reminder of why they put the click there.
