my drift day..with some good news..to me
Well all i took a day off work so i can go to the drift track for the first time. First it was an absolute BLAST! i didnt think my car would do too well, but it suprised the heck outta me. It took a few laps to get to know the abilities and limits of my car. The big mistake i was making at first is i was holding onto the wheel as i was sliding, instead of basically letting it go and correcting itself for the following turn. After i corrected that, it was all over with.I lost control a few times trying to push the car past its limit. NO damage was done to my car, just got real muddy and dirty.(lost control and went off the track into some mud!). Here is the good news (atleast to me). there was another guy there drifting his skyline, and i parked for a minute to cool down and he stopped also to come talk to me. He asked me how long i ad been drifting. when i told him that this was my first time out, he was estatic and very amazed. He told me that with a few more practice sessions that he thinks ill be able to compete in the "beginners" competition on the weekends. that boosted my ego just a lil! i do have a few pics, and lots of video from inside my car, but im unable to get the video online as of now. here are the pics...
what both my tires looked like. i think i need news ones??
i went off the track and into some mud.
*this is deff an awesome sport, but as i now realize can get damn expensive.. but ill be out there next week anyways..*

let me correct myself. what i meant was, i was correcting the steering too soon. atleast with my car, once it was almost through the turn the car would slide the other wat causing the wheel to spin. I would catch the wheel too soon, instead of letting it go around a little more, so it could set me up perfectly for the next turn...if that makes sense?
