DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Lexus F@CKS UP one more vehicle I'm out of here!!! The SC430, LS430, ES3 (Aztec300:eek 02', the future GS and almost the present GS, now this crap... The Sequioa looks better IMO and it DOES look like the Benz ML, 4-Runner and a Mitsi Montera.
What ever happened to world class leading style? Greed will mess up everything! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE hire another styling studio and fire the clowns designing the cars now!!!
I would not buy this trash on principle alone... I'll rather buy the new Escalade at least Cadilac had the ***** and GUTS to be different!!! Why does Lexus need another SUV when they can not style the cars right anymore?!
The X5 is the King of the Hill in it's class and beyond...

I'm afraid that we have been spoiled by the elegant classic lines of our cars........there are very few new cars that make us feel the same way....certainly an SUV will never grab our hearts.......
Here's a picture of the Toyota GTV proto-type from 1987, thats right 1987, two door, four seat coupe, look familiar???
Maybe I'm just old but out of the 2001 GX and the 1987 GTV I know which one I'd buy.......

Hmmmm when I was read thread, I thought maybe you were having another one of ur pms rants that you have alot, but you were right, GOD DAMN that is one ugly, uhmmmm vehicle, whatever it classifies as. It looks like a cross between the lx450 (or 70 whatever that lx was), a Jeep Liberty, and that new Pontiac? Minivan, just look at the tailights, youll know what I mean.
Although you were saying how lexus F'd up all there old models, while I agree with you to a certain extent, when I first saw the SC430, I thought it was ugly as hell, but now I think its dope as hell. I think the GS looks fine, and although I dont like what they did with the ES, they had to do SOMETHING, noones gonna pay money for a car that looks like a camry with an L on the front (not me at least)
Im disapointed, I agree Lexus definatley needs to get a new styling crew

The GX470 looks pretty nice. The interior is great with that Nav screen and wood grain accents on the dash and steering wheel. The GS430 looks like a nice and elegant automobile. I do admit that the new ES300 is kind of ugly on the exterior, they do need to change that but, all in all, the lexus model line looks pretty nice.

The Toy GTV from 1987 looks like the prototype for the Soarer/SC...

i think the Gx is a okay thing for them to go about
i mean ... im sure it will grow on us all... just as
all the newer cars are doing
at first i thought the SC 430 was kinda different... but every time i see is i cant contain my self... it just kinda grows on you
just like the ES 300
its about time they changed the car from a camry ... now i can look at a glance and tell ....
and the new ES is larger... my dad has a 92 LS 400
and the new ES is as large if not larger than his car
i think the new ES has a cool and different style to it that will grow more and more as i see them
thats my opinion

Shutdown,
You are correct, the new 2002 Camry does have a similiar body style to the '02 ES, They like you said will always make the Camry a little diffrent than the ES300, they roll off the same assembly line.

Hmmm, correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the Toyota GTV kind of resemble a Soarer? I would say this is actually the prototype of our cars.

I don't know. It seems nice. On the other hand the ES300 is not too impressive. Inside however it's very nice! I like it! As far as ugly cars are concerned I give my vote to Pontiac Aztek. I think it's a definition of ugly.

Yeah the SC came with black interior and the also a grayish interior.. The tan leather interior is by far the best IMO for the SC...
As far as the Aztec300 errrrrrrrrr ES300 goes.......

Erfan - Isn't the Camry made in the USA? The ES300 is made in Japan...
As for the GX470 - Actually, I don't think it's that bad. it's a little larger than the RX, and smaller than the LX but with the same motor as the LX. It's a good compromise IMO for people LOOKING for a vehicle in that class. As for the styling, I don't think it's horrible now that I've looked at it some more. I'm feeling the same way about the ES....it just takes some getting used to...
