10" subs
Will any 10" sub fit in the back there or do I need a different type of sub? I was thinking about getting mtx thunder 6000s and a new amp, so if you guys know just let me know. thanks,

I don't know all the details...I'm not a stereo person. But it seems like a few people here suggested a Pioneer Free Air sub. I bought one at www.etronics.com for just a hair over $50 shipped. Seems like a decent price.

get either the kicker comp free air 10"(don't know the exact model) or the JL Ib4 10" free air sub which I'm about to get.....heard they both sound great....and around just over 100. they just mount right in.

For either subwoofers (pioneer or kicker), do I need to change the factory amplifier as well? I noticed that the kicker is 4-ohm subwoofer and according to somebody in the forum, our factory is not capable of handling 4-ohm subwoofers.

Got my setup for around $700 w/ installation.
Bumps really loud but rattles a lot. Stock Pioneer system cannot compare. I have a standard box sittin' in the trunk.

Hey, let me save you guys some aggravation, you'll thank me later. A 10" free-air sub, i.e. a JL IB4, is not a straight drop-in. You'll have to take a saw (I used a Jigsaw) to cut apart the frame of the factory sub, and the aftermarket sub will actually sit within the oversized frame of the oe sub. Bolt the new sub to the frame, and bolt the frame back in. Let me know if you need more details, I can give you specific instructions. As far as vibration, you won't see any with the IB4 at about 80hz, it's pretty well dampened back there from the factory. If you want to obliterate your trunk space and add a box with a couple of subs, you'll need to use some Dynamat and perhaps some foam. You'll definitely want an aftermarket amp, you don't need anything incredibly high end, a class D amp would be best, but a good clean unit with 150w or more will do. Take note that the IB4 is only available in an 8-ohm configuration, make sure the amp you use puts out decent power into an 8-ohm mono load. Oh, and you'll have enough room between the fuel tank and the magnet structure, about 22mm.
