The Buick has the same 4.0 liter V8 that was in the Olds Aurora and could be had with a supercharger. The Olds/Buick 4.0 is based on the 4.6 Cadillac Northstar motor but they all are front wheel drive. Thats the only thing I really dislike about my STS, its got 300 hp but the wrong wheels spin.

Here are the Riviera's fails.

1. Its Fwd!
2. Its not as stylish as the SC.
3. Even with the supercharger ts underpowered.
4. The transmission were garbage on those cars.
5. And longevity. How many SC's do you see compared to Riviera's?

Im not downing the Riviera, im just stating facts.

Also he only mentioned 3 changes for 97. there were many changes. Figures though. That was a Buick training video.
