bringing up an old thread..but yea..much better than making another one...so question is..i plan on upgrading just the front end, because i plan on doing the vertex lip kit. for for the kit to be done..i need the 97+ front end and the rest of my 92 body is fine.

so in order for me to do the 97 front end, all i need is the 97+ front bumper cover, grille, fogs, and absorber? or modify my existing absorber? what would i need to do if i were to modify it?

I don't use an absorber for either from or rear - I don't think you need it in there personally. I have never tried to modify one to fit so I can't help. But yes, your list is correct

Came across this thread searching for info on the 97+ conversion. "Side skirts" and "door moldings" must go by another name than what's listed ^.

What's required and what is just to "complete the look" (obviously the spoiler is not required) in case I was going to piece it together? I have a line on the front and rear bumper for sure. Side skirts/door moldings maybe; what should I go for next? I guess I'm just looking for info from other's who have done the conversion.

Anyone have pics of a partial 97 conversion? I know some people retain certain body parts from the pre-97; but does it look funky or what? I'm just trying to figure out if this is an all or nothing or if it can be pieced together (obviously before painting).

I was going to go wheels & interior; but she needs to be painted so the body is next.

These are the side skirts
left body rocker panel 75851-24900
right body rocker panel 75852-24900

Don't have the part number for the mouldings, but here is a link to them. Just choose the color:

I hate every single one of you guys here in this thread (Actually, I really don't) but ever since I unknowingly ran across (And reluctantly bought) the side skirts on impulse, I now find myself somewhat "obsessed" with having to complete the '97-'00 OEM look, In fact I just had my side skirts painted and mounted on today and now I'm on the hunt for a complete front bumper (Grill, foglights and absorber) and the lower side door moldings.

First part I got were the sideskirts too. I picked them up cheap early this year and took my time gathering the rest. Half the fun is sourcing the parts, I took my time and had enough patience not to slap them on as I went. All of them now's getting painted at the same time.

The problem with getting '97-'00 parts is that other folks want them as much as you do...I will definitely not have any luck finding a '97+ parts in here...So my best option is to actually call up local junkyards and get them myself.

Does anyone know if a 98 front bumper can simply be bolted onto a 95? Or will only the 97's work?

thanks for the quick reply...is $400 a good deal for a new one? the parts listed above say $315, but haven't seen any for that price. also, mole, how do you go about modifying the front absorber? you had mentioned that in it earlier in the thread.

Seems like prices may have gone up since this thread started. If you are in SoCal, Carson Toyota has it brand new for $410: http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...layCatalogid=0

Any cheaper place may end up costing more since you have to pay for shipping. Don't forget you need the grill and the foglights to complete the look.

I didn't modify the absorber since a new 97-00 one is around $50 new. I'm sure you or your body shop can figure it out when installing the bumper.

I need the 97+ tail lamps, I'm probably getting a Black SC this time and the Ebay black smoked tail lamps arent painting a clear picture in my head how they might look on a black SC.
