Default This is what a "donked" sc300 looks like....

I recently picked up a set of 20s for soooper cheap, but with the wrong size of tire for the sc300, but I gotta show off the bling bling for a few days.

Stock suspension with 255/35 series tires. The driver side front rubs on the fender on heavy bumps/quick turns into driveways, cause the suspension is actually lower.

I removed all inner fender panels for maximum clearance.

According to a tire size calculator this size is much bigger than the size I allready had on, but the shocker is my speedometer is actually correct. I had a friend follow me in a new malibu and we were doing the same speed. So my with my factory size tires and wheels my speedometer is off.

My plans are to put these up for the winter this weekend and buy the correct size tires while they are in storage, so when spring comes they will be perfect!

Now my question is: should I go with a 215/30 to match up my factory specs, roll fenders and lower it or do a 225/35 for more tread, roll fenders and lower it? Right now lowering it is out of the question unless I do some SERIOUS ROLLING OF THE FENDERS.

it just seems that ur speed is the same, but i think it would only change by like 2mph or sumin, nothing noticeable. there is a speed difference calculator also, you can try that.

wheels dont look to bad, would look even better with a kit.

Very clean. The wheels look a little like chrome versions of the wheels on the Ferrari F50.

like mentioned above.. i think you will need to install a body kit for to achieve a better look.

20s with stock body look a little misproportioned, but thats just my opinion

i like your sc, because i like all sc's.. so just keep up the modding.

Why would you want to go from a 255 to a 215? That will be a drastic change. Do you know what the wheel width and offset are on those wheels? First determine that then you can determine the correct size tire to go with. The 35 series side wall is low enough. The 30 series always made me feel iffy when driving down the road because you have a higher chance of bending your wheel. Especially a 20" wheel.

I agree with JspexSC3 on this one. why would you put 20's on and go with a tire size smaller than stock. It would look ridiculous from behind.
use this - http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
basically you need 255/30/20 or 245/30/20.
you can go with 35 for a better ride, just make sure your brakes are up for it and learn your speedo.

I run 245's all around on my stock 16" rims and i still want wider.
slap some 265/30/20's on the rear and 245/30/20's on the front,
that would look wicked sick. otherwise those 255's are just fine.

by the way i like the ride alot. roll those fenders!! before you eat up a tire.

Now you're only missing one of those chrome metal plaques on your back window that says "Clublexus C.C."

A lot of the NYC Club Lexus guys are running higher tire pressures on 30 and 25 series tires to prevent wheel bends on the pot-hole infested city roadways. The ride quality will suffer, but the wheels will stay round and beautiful.

If I am not mistaken, Scott (M90 supercharged on 20" Rezax) is running that identical tire spec in the rear on his SC. The front tire rubbing (without the fender lining) is what would concern me the most since there is some very influential wiring running over the driver side fender. You rip that apart, and you will be PMing Aliga for a new harness.

I think increased tire pressure to save the wheels and a smaller tire up front would be the way to go. However, a 215/30 would be horrible (in my opinion). The load rating is sketchy for such a heavy car, braking performance would suffer (more than it already is on 20's), and it would probably look very "sedan like". I would probably try and find a decent deal on a set of 30 series tires for the front, but I would not go with a 215...damn near anything in the 225-245/30 range will be better at saving the engine harness than the 255/35 you are on now.
