Nice work, CDY! Thanks! I think I'm going to give that look a shot first. If I don't like it it will be easier to black out the top later vs trying to turn it red again.

I painted them Dark Charcoal because I wanted a gunmetal look (originally gold
). I matched my woodtrim inside the same color as I hated the wood look.

As someone mentioned before about liking smoke better than blackout. I knew I could always go darker so that is the nice thing about the niteshades paint. You can keep applying coats until the look is exactly what you want.
