Exactly. I put 87 in my car by accident once and it felt like such a dog, I didn't even get on it until I was able to get more good gas in it.

The previous owner of my car dyno'd it on 87 octane since that's all he used and it made a measly 152 whp stock. Black_SC's car by comparison doesn't seem to run 100% and put down I believe 178 whp with just exhaust.

I don't think mph matters so much as rpm. I usually keep it right above the 3k line for best mpg, which equals ~76mph on stock tire size.

I was so low on gas last fill-up, my car started doing the whole sputtering/chug-chug-chug at the end, about to run out of of gas in the middle of turning left into the Kroger gas station. Luckily, I made it. Of course, since my gas tank was so low, it took me $45 to fill-up , up from my regular $40-42 per fill-up.

I need to seriously get some kind of cheap 3- or 4-cyl POS. Hybrids are looking very good to me right now and I see some kind of economical car in my future (as a second car, of course). It's just too bad hybrids are still somewhat expensive.

Ha! I barely use my car in Chicago since I take the train to work, 500 miles the last 2 months.

Last fill up, 6.3 gallons on 72 miles

Yeah, my SC sucks at stop'n'go driving... I haven't hit the highway since my last fillup and I think I'm averaging ~17mpg right now

My 5speed SC gets around 360 miles everytime before the light comes on and it usually takes 15 gallons to fill up. Do the math, 360/15 equals 24mpg. Sometimes I get a liitle less; around 23.

LS1 cars pull close to 30 mpg in stock or close to stock form, they're no joke.

The LSx has a really wide torque band, so it runs just fine at full-load around 1200rpm... that's why you can start a new z06 in 5th gear and take it all the way to 150+mph without shifting (and why 1st gear will take you to ~60mph)
