On the driver's door there's a trim code sticker. The bottom left section should end in W58 on 5 speed cars.

Also, 5 speed cars do not have traction control. Check the throttle body and see if it has trac.

any pictures of how that trac should look on the throttle body? After seeing all those supras, all i think of is that the car is transplanted from multiple cars/parts. I don't know really. I just dont want to let my 3500 miles fresh 4age ae86 with all the jdm goodness that cost me TIME and money. My car might not be worth as much as a 5 speed money wise but the value of the car is what sets my car apart from the rests. I think is time to move on and get something that can hold power. Am getting too old to be investing money to an engine that the max hp that is going to see is 200hp and who knows. 4age is weak.

I just dont want to trade off my car that cost me a lot of sacrifices for something this guys threw together on a weekend. I am pretty possitive some guys here understand that. That why I am trying to educate me as much as I can so I dont feel sorry later on.

Thanks for the help guys. The guy also told me the car is factory 5 speed. Lets see the w58 on the door. Any other tips to see if is factory 5 speed?

I searched before I created this thread and didn't find exactly what I was looking for. Anyways, I want to say thanks again to all of you helping make my trade the best.

200k miles. I dont know man. My gf sc300 is auto and It looks exactly like that one but hers is green and she is going to sell it to me for like 3k (what she paid when I helped her get it) and has 120k miles but the valve cover gaskets are bad i think since it was consuming oil and you could see some oil there and under the distributor. Help me out here.

seems like the corolla is worth more than the sc. What would you value the ae at?

well stock usdm sell for 2.5k up to even 4 or 4.5k. Depending on paint and stuff. Mine got the original paint and stuff and super fresh virgin engine. Some sell theirs for 13k some 7 or 9k. Mine is not that fancy since i dont got wheels made in the 1970s that are worth $2k. Mine got the stock celica supra so nothing fancy there.

I would not want to say the value of my car because I dont want you guys to laugh but logically I would not ask more than 6k for a 22 year old car. Is just a corolla to some and I respect that. more than 6k, would me more than what is really worth if the person buying is really educated about the car and can tell the real value. Please dont flame me but on the ae86 market, thats a realistic price for a decent corolla.

Go check out club4ag.com and go to the classified section. Some are pricey, and the cheap ones are crappy sr5s.

My 5 speed has cruise as well. IIRC cruise is a standard feature on all SC's.

IMO it's more likely that the guy who has this SC probably bought it to do a swap on and hasn't gotten to it yet. I don't see it being worth the trouble to buy a 200K mile car and swap in a manual trans. However, it would be worth it to do a TT swap on.

I'll take a couple pics in a moment and get them posted for you.

For argument's sake...It could've had the engine and trans swapped out from the same car though, not just the trans.

I would say that the sc in the pic is worth 2-3k just making sure you are not getting shafted on the trade.

I'd have to agree with that. If it's been meticuliously maintained then it's probably worth a bit more. However, with that mileage it's probably showing it's age and needs a lot of maintinance that's been put off. You could get a pretty nice SC for $6K.
