Oh yes, I already pulled everything off them and they broke into 20 pieces. Wasnt getting that foam backing off the cross grid fun?

you know it. razorblades helped a lot, but just peeling them would have sucked big time.

i had to superglue a bunch of the plastic parts back together, which was another pain in the rear

I've taken off a door panel once to check to see if a speaker was blown. It sucked.

I haven't seen them since monday, but I talked to my buddy at work and he has just done a few small things. He's going to be working on them on his off time and our days off. It will probably be a few weeks before they are complete.

as for the sub, yes I am. It's just a little 10" woofer though why do you ask?

i like this. a guy at my circuit city did a lot of custom work and he was going to do my door panels with infinity kappa perfect 5.25"(the old good ones not the new crap). went with 5.25" because i got them new for 50 bucks. and jbl audio 8" subs. they fit when you make an mdf pod and cut the front of the door away and go to town fiberglassing. ill try to get some pics of it.

im subscribing to this one.

oh btw...why focals.....i know they sound amazing but for the money i would have rather went with an older set of Boston Acoustic 3 ways. i think they sound better. i heard both sets in stores and in cars.

alright I'm gonna resurrect this thread with some updated pics...almost 4 months without door panels...gotta love homie hookups, but i'm stoked at how they're turning out

Hoebag: if you want he grills just pay for the shipping and they're yours. I'll even throw in the metal ring that goes around the 6.5"

5sp jzz30: Focals are my favorite speakers personally, and considering when you work for a Focal dealer you get good deals...why go with anything else

without further stalling...

the major part of the panel will be wrapped in the same light vinyl as the upper portion of the door panel. the inset will be wrapped in the darker brown vinyl that goes around the windows on the SC

I want custom door panels soooooo bad, but our doors are so flippin big and you cant just "add on" door pods.... you have to almost rebuild the whole flippin door panel!!

So much work! Mad Props to your buddy that is doing it for you! They are lookin sweet! You better pay him very well!

Here are a couple more updated pictures. If things go well, we'll work on them tomorrow and hopefully get them all done
