Default trac-off and check engine light

Hello fellow lexus owners...I need some advice

My 1993 SC400 recently had the trac/off light go on...I guess it means that most likely the ABS system is not working or a sensor is "off"??? I asked my friend who owns a repair shop and he said that I could probably drive the vehicle without problems (which I have been doing for 3 days now). I might take it to the dealer to get it checked out though....Any one with similar experiences?

When you Check Engine Light is on, TRAC doesnt work.

You can drive the car but there is still a Check Engine Light on...

You have OBD1. I would check the codes. Here is a link on how to do it.

This should be in the performance section btw.

+1 with Red Phoenix. Also, the Trac system does not directly effect the ABS. Meaning, a Trac light on the dash does not disable the ABS nor does it indicate something wrong with the ABS.

Here's another link to help with pulling CEL codes:

Yes, don't throw away good money bringing it to the dealer when you can do it yourself
