Default ALSC dyno day pictures

The Australian Lexus Soarer Club had a dyno day and a meet (45 Soarers).
Here are some of the photos from the day - they will only be up for a limited time so grab any that interest you.

The meet was at Sports and Luxury cars, Melbourne:

The dyno day was at Caulfield Jag. Pods, filters, intakes, exhaust, extractors, fuel octane, oil type, ECU's were all tested in modified and stock V8's, twin turbos and VVTi single turbo Soarers: Lots of results to come.

Here are the photos of Aarons before and after exhaust, including pics of standard headers and extractors:

Some initial results are being looked at on the LSOC forum.

best regards

Peter, very nice. Is that your BFD intake in those pictures? Polished it and put nice hoses-clamps, I like. Pod filter now?
Or is it someone elses?

I like the intake too. I will try to make one since I have the picture. By the way, can we get the intake in US? and how much will it cost including shipping and handling?

I belive some people had success with intake from the GS. GS300 has the same engine as SC300 and GS400 has the same engine as SC400.

No that's not my intake or my car.
My intake between the AFM and the throttle made the car accelerate slower than stock. This polished aluminium intake with the big K&N pod arrived fresh from Japan as did the Soarer V8.
It looked great - everyone wanted it.

We tested it on two cars - a fresh stock V8 from Japan and a hotted up car with exhaust and MiNes ECU.

The results were disappointing - it hardly made a difference. The general consensus was that it had great sex appeal but that it was a load of bull**** - no-one wants it now. It sure was loud though - great if you want induction noise. So it is mostly a dress up item only, with some extra noise to get noticed.

Changing fuel and oil gave much better gains, changing genuine air filter gave no gains, some high powered cars went worse with air filter out! Exhaust gave best (still moderate) gains.
We now have 47 dyno runs with different Soarers and configurations. We will post all information, data files, dyno graphs etc soon.

So I could buy an intake that's made for GS400 for my SC400?

I would assume so, after all, these cars have the same engine and from what I was looking at, the Rod Millen intake looks like it would fit the SC300. Why not the same for SC400.

A GS400 intake will not fit a pre-98 SC400. I believe the front of the engine is where the intake begins on the GS400 and the pre-98 400's have the intake running along the side of the engine from the back.
