![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I am really wanting to buy this 94 SC400. It's got 115,000 miles and has been well maintained. The owner is asking $7000 for it.
The owner told me the power steering has been making some noise the past month and that it has effected the steering a bit.
I'm thinking of asking the owner to fix the power steering problem before I buy it. (does anyone have a part # for the power steering pump?)
The owner is my brother and I have ridden in the car before. It was awesome. Everything seemed to work. I was a little bumed to find out how expensive it would be to add a stereo that would have an auxillary input but I can worry about that later.
Is there anything paticular about the 94 SC to look out for in terms of known problems?
I don't want to buy this car if it means that I will have to shell out lots of money for repairs. I guess I have this idea (possibly a fantasy if mine) that because it's a Lexus and Lexus is made by toyota that it will need minimal repairs and will go over 200,000 miles.
Any input on this would be very helpful.

He should give you the brother hookup, half price. ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I have seen SC400s go for less with a tad bit more miles. Best bet is to take it to a mechanic you trust to have it checked out.

Sounds like a fair price for the car to me, low miles. I think you are right about lasting a long time, but all cars of this age will need some repair. If he hasnt done a timing belt replacment, Id ask him for the price of the timing belt job, then have the p.s. pump done while its already in the shop.
