I have the pearliscent jade as well. Mine is clear coated, according to the paint shop when I had some touch up work 3 years ago. I think it's time for a paint job for my ole' coupe....

The paint on my car is still pretty good except for few dents by rocks. I am thinking about buying some Zaimo Brothers products. These are great. Will make the car look awesome!

Okay, I have a 92. So, when ordering the Zaino good stuff, which number should I buy, the finisher for the clear coat or for the regular?

Post Colour Codes

According to the Lexus paint codes, if you have 'black' non metallic, paint code 202 then this didn't have a clear coat.

If you look on your VIN plate (Certification Label) there will be a line that starts C/TR then some numbers. These are the Lexus (Toyota) colour/trim codes. The first number is the paint code, check that yours is 202.

Royal Jade Pearl, 6M2, has two coats....

In Japan/Europe our VIN plate is in the engine bay but I understand that in the USA it is on the drivers door.

The basic Zaino kit you will need is as follows:

Dawn Dishwashing Detergent get this on your own

1 Bottle of ZAINO #1 Polish Lok
1 Bottle of ZAINO #2 Polish for dlearcoated cars
1 Bottle of ZAINO #5 Swirl Remover for clearcoated cars

Optional:

1 Zaino claybar if you feel your paint surface is dirty
1 Bottle of Z5 Gloss Enhancer to spritz the surface in between washes and get extra gloss

Also, you may want a second bottle of Zaino #2 as this is the stuff that you do multiple coats of over time to get a real deep gloss finish.

I'm waiting for spring to come, then I'm gonna start over from clay bar

'S'Low Rider: thanks for info. I have black and been using Z2. I haven't checked if I have "202" but I bet I need to get Z3 next time.

Default z3 and question about ZFX

yea I just confirmed that I have 202, non clear coated black.

Does anyone know if Z3 or Z2 makes any difference? I have been using Z2 and wondering if Z3 makes any better.

I just found out that zaino has new product, ZFX, anyone has tried it already? I wanna hear any comments on it.
