Default Think a stock SC can DRIFT???

Well i have a 95 5spd SC300. What do you guys think about takin it to a drift event. Does the car even have an LSD? I dont have any suspension work done either. I was just wondering if anyone tried to drift a stock SC300 and how it turned out. I am a good drifter but kinda need the car do help too you know. So is a stock SC a good drift car or not??

i think its a good drift car...
just not in stock condition
needs mods such as lightening up the car as much as you can and the proper suspension works and hp

Default SC300 drift

Mine is all stock. no mods but its driftable. A little underpowered but it works. A good 1JZ or 2JZ swap will sold that problem.

Check out some clips below.

Ok well obviously you do have a modded suspension. I also dont wanna change out the stock leather seats which is gonna suck. I am gonna be jumpin from one side to the other. Oh well, will see how it goes. If i do mod the suspension what would be a good start. Coils, sways, shocks???

i drifted mine all summer long at drift days. all have is a welded diff, tokico/eibach combo, two grapefruit shooter mufflers and a JIC bucket seat. i put some 15x7 wheels with a 195 tire stretch on it in the rear. it drifted really nicely. plenty of fun its very underpowered but you just have to clutch kick the hell out of it.

Just get a good 2way lsd some coilovers and your set. Ive seen some drivers drive on that setup and do pretty well. Id say thats all you really need. Just have fun

a welded diff is a diff that is open and the spider gears are welded so it is constantly locked. when you go around turns the tire hops a bit and girls ask if your car is broken it cost me 50 bucks to get it welded and its been holding up since summer. a welded diff can be thought of as a full spool used in drag racing applications. same concept. 2 way diff is 750+ and i dont wanna spend that much money on it. i dont mind the welded diff either.

If an AE86 corolla is driftable, so is the sc300. Underpower? no way!

If you weld the diff, you'll be good to go.

SC is definitely underpowered stock only because its so heavy. clutch kick it a lot and youll be all good. make sure you dont have a stock clutch though. it wont last too long.
