Default trade or not to trade

hey guys, we got a 2002 red is300 5mt as a trade in, and i really like it alot. its got 70k on the odometer and its really clean interior and mechanically, i testdrove it and had it up in the air for inspection. my used car manager can get it to me for 14k. now i would have to give up my 92 sc300 with a 1jz swap. lowered fmic custom exhaust supra wheels and a 97 front end. help me decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! reason i really liked it was because of the 4doors and the handling was pretty good i liked the balance of the car, it did not feel as heavy as the sc eventhough i do have suspension and boost... as far as trade in value for my sc i dont think it would be much as they would auction off my car, im guessing 2500-3500$

If you like the IS.. get it.. But why would you even be concerned about the trade in value of your SC. Yea they would only give you 2500 to 3500, but why would you even do that. Sell the SC on your own and get alot more money for it. If you only want 2500-3500 for a 1J swapped SC with suspenion and whatnot ill buy it today

I'd *love* an IS300 5-speed! But you'd be so much better off selling your car on your own rather than getting $3K out of it on a trade-in, your car bone stock would get more than that I'm sure.

If I was in the same shoes and could afford it I would trade. IS feels lighter and seats 4 comfortably. GO FOR IT!

I wouldn't trade the SC in for an IS unless you really need 4 doors.

I'm hoping to pick up a new car sometime this year (maybe at the end) for daily commute and so my mrs can drive around... looking at either an IS200 or a Subaru Legacy wagon (hope funds will permit for an IS200 though).

seriously, 14k is going rate for IS's right now. ive been looking as well. i wouldn't trade anything. if you like the IS then simply buy it. do not trade it. hell i will give you 3500 for the sc, i can have a flight booked asap. no sense in throwing it away. keep the sc finance the IS and brag that you have 2 awesome cars. if you do decide that you would rather trade it in, please pm me first, i have cash in hand.
