Default Spare tire nut stuck..

Hello all, long time lurker but this is my first actual post..

Anyways, my left front tire has developed a slow leak. I was about ready to put on the spare and take it to a tire shop to see what they can do, but I can't get the spare out. I'm not sure what to call it, but the plastic thing in the middle that you have to unscrew to get at the tire will not budge. It's a '92 and I doubt the spare has ever been touched.

Any ideas?

the threads are at the bottom of the trunk .. so when you spray the wd-40 make sure it goes down the rod to the base... then use some muscle... maybe possible a oil filter wrench might work. good luck.

Definately the wd-40.
put a towel on it and give it a couple love taps with an instrument of choice.
Not too hard, just enough to loosen it up.
