Default Anybody know if these wheels will fit a 92 SC400?

These are the HP Lightning EVOs. The setup is a s follows:

Staggered Sizes: Front 18x8, Rear 18x9
Offset: 38
Lugs: 5 x 100/114.3/120/115
Tires: Front 235/40/18, Rear 265/35/18

The sales guy at Wheelfire did not know whether the fronts would clear the brake calipers or not. He told me I would have to pay shipping and restocking fees if they did not fit eventhough it comes up as one of the options through their configurator on their web site. I am hoping someone here has these already and can tell me whether they will fit or not.

Thanks.

Yes those look amazing. I forgot his username, but he has a 2000 Silver SC400 with those I believe. He used to have a bandaid on the front bumper, anyway they looked hot. Edit: It was CyberSC4, he's some nice photos somewhere around here...

Also there is a humongous thread about wheel fitment somewhere in the SC section.

It's a nice design. I might be close to getting some that look similar to those (TSW Kyalami) in 17s, though. I wanted 18s or 19s but if I can get a good deal on my friend's used set, and if they look good and fit, then I might get them.

Your wheels and tires should fit perfectly fine!

I have a set of 18 inch Advan TCII's on my car (Front:18x8.5 with a 24 offset and Rear:18x9.5 with a 25 offset) and my tires sizes are Hankook RS2's225/40 (front) and 235/35 (rear) if the sizes on this car fit just fine, Then you shouldnt have a problem with your tire sizes....Here, have a look at mine's...

See how even with these offsets that the rims and tires are evenly flushed with the fenders?

Thumbs up

Good looking setup. Are you on stock springs or did you lower the car?

By the way. Tks to everyone who replied. I am pretty sure these wheels will fit as long as I retain the stock brake calipers. Even if I do go to larger calipers in the future, the clearance issue can be dealt with using spacers.

Guys,

Here I am again back where I started. I spoke to someone at HP Racing and he wasn't sure if these wheels would fit. He called someone at Wheelfire and was told the wheels do not fit the SC400. I also called Wheel fire and talked to Jeff. I was told they had done about three of these on the SC400 and none fit. I am pretty puzzled at this point given the fact that a lot of you have said they would fit and some of you even have them on your cars. I have a question:

Are your cars SC300s? Jeff at Wheelfire told me the brake calipers on the SC300 may be smaller than the SC400's and that may be the reason why a lot of you replied "Yes! They will fit!"

Thanks.

The size difference is null on void, I think its just larger rotors if anything.

The SC400 calipers are not large by ANY means. A lot of those wheel places dont really know about fitment on an SC. Easier way to get a fitment answer is does it fit the Supra...

However. Those sizes/offsets will definetly fit inside the SC's wheel well, sunken more than anything.

You will be fine.

Well, thanks again for all the replies, here on the thread or in PM. I have placed the order with Wheelfire. Jeff, the sales rep there, has come up with an easy solution to this dilemma. He is sending me a display 18x8 wheel wit a 38 offset to see how it will fit. I should be getting it some time next week. I will update the thread once I have it mounted in the front for those who are presently faced with the same issue or whoever decides to run a search and find this thread in the future.
