I dont think so because of the metalic flakes and such. I was always under the impression of clear then wetsand.

the body shop i used to work at we would always color sand before clear coat, even with flakes..and if done right, the paint will be extremely glossy even before the clear coat is applied..then we would wet sand after the clear as well

I thought you are not suppose to sand the basecoat prior to clearcoating.

1.Sand/Bondo dents/ primer
2.Sand the primer
3.Time for sealer
4.Sand sealer
5.Spray basecoat
6.Spray pearl -- ( if 3 stage )
7.Clear coat.
8.Lightly sand clearcoat.
9. Buff the paint to shine.

Am I missing something here?

im sure your dead on but they will add another primer after u sand down #2 right?

base coat, then sand another base coat?
4x clear coat :] hEHeheheh.. (i wish mine had that :[)

now that's the right way to paint a car.. window pulled... trims removed.

i hope you rolled the fenders if you're gonna re-paint.
