Sure did, you didn't see the timestamp? Exact amount of time it takes to open a thread, read the replies, then *click* You should have posted a minute earlier that's all

Well it all makes sense. I guess I just needed to hear it from other SC drivers. The amount of gas still left in the tank after the low fuel light comes on is just a lot. Plain and simple.

Once that light comes on I end up getting gas right away (usually before it comes on), thinking that I will suck up too much crap from the bottom of the tank.

I think next time I will try to go 20-30 miles post gas light. Anyone have a spare tow truck I can use?

when ever my gas light turn on i go to gas up and put in about 18 gallons. when i drive 30 miles with the gas light on i can put about 19 gallons in the tank.

take out your gas tank. you might have some hidden drug money in there
it happened to some guy a few years back. the guys mechanic found like 170 thousand dollars in the tank. so what does the owner and the mechanic do? turn the money in to the police

Yea when the needle gets to "E" there is still a few gallons left. I usually fill my tank when it is either half empty or half full and I usually monitor how much gallons it takes to fully fill the tank to calculate mpg. I was puzzled one day when I saw my needle at the halfway mark with only 150 miles on my trip meter. I thought the half mark was 10 gallons so I was only getting 15 mpg?? I drive alot of street, but still that was pretty low. I was relieved when I went to the gas station as it only needed about 8 gallons to fully fill up the tank, which resulted in about 18-19mpg. This lead me to believe that there is about 16 gallons from the top line to the bottom line on the fuel gauge. Since the needle can drop below the bottom line, I figure that is where the other 4 gallons are.

well, i was curious, so i filled up a 5 gallon portable can, and drove around today...i can drive 58 miles AFTER my fuel light comes on. i then quickly went to a gas station. it defiantly surprised me, i would never have driven it that far with the light on, now i know if i have to, i can!!
