Default 16x7 wheels, would it be okay?

The fronts are 205/55/16 and the rears are 225/50/16. Let me know if there would be any problems with this.

can't really tell from pics, but a 42 offset on a 7/7.5" rim would look pretty sunken

they would look nice on a smaller car that was ridiculously lowered, like a 240sx. on a big car like the SC a 16" wheel only looks good in the winter with snow tires on them

they seem like nice looking wheels though. if you drift your car at all you can buy these wheels and use them on the back of the car when going to events. 16" tires are cheap and the wheels look descent. you can put a 25mm or 35mm spacer on it to have it pretty flush. it wont be flush but it wont "OMFG your ca looks like a turtle with the wheels tucked in"

i would get 18" if you had the money. if not then just live with what you have until you save up enough money to get what you want or find a great bargain.

I was planning on buying at least two sets of wheels, some smaller, classy mesh wheels with a lip and some 18s or 19s, probably mesh, too, or the 02-06 SC 430 18s. $195-200 is tempting.

i have a few sets of wheels too. i have:

ssr reverse mesh 15x7.5+17 for drifting. has nice lip and classic look.
97 sc300 wheels with all season tires...i use them only in the winter
Supra TT wheels with summer tires....just bought them but will probably sell to my buddy to put on his mk3 supra when its done and when my Works come in.

i like having a few sets of wheels. have set of fun wheels that you dont care about curbing or worse. another set for daily driving. and possibly a set of "baller" rims

for that price i would do it. even if you dont like them you can resell them and make some gas money

I ended up buying the MHT BBS LM-style wheels for $140. You can see the wheels on the link in my signature.

why not 225 all the way around? its not like you're running a staggered rim...

My guess is he got a screaming deal form a friend or craigslist, etc. The tires were just what was already on the wheels.

i run staggered wheels on my stock rims lol
the rear 225's were bald when i bought the car, so i decided 245's in the back would help for winter traction and leave the good 225's up front.
works like a charm! SC feels so much better with 245's on the rear.

In snow I put my stock 15" wheel back on the back of the car with a 205/50/15 tire and I've gotten around like a charm.

Yes, you want skinnier tires in the winter, it allows them to "cut" through the snow, etc and get to the pavement. Of course assuming you're talking about a winter tire. If you're driving on summer tires in the winter skinnier will "help", but still won't do very much.
