Default Price check on aisle 9... 94 SC300

Looking at a 94 SC300 with 120K miles. Car is uber clean. Seems I either find them in good to excellent condition or totally ratted out.

Anyway, book in my area is 5300 for fair condition. What should I pay? The nice ones at dealers are asking 6-7500 or so. Still a little hesitant cause KBB doesn't really support the prices I am seeing.

What do you guys think?

Those are asking prices. Prices just seem to be inconsistent. I checked the few for sale in the classifieds and the stock cars seem closer to book, around the 5K mark.

Thinking I would offer 4K and see what happens?

I'd start with 4k and go up a bit from there.

That sounds just about right. Good luck, and hopefully you get the car at the right price.

Look on your local craigslist.org, much cheaper on there than at dealerships.

Many things affect the value of a car, especially these. What color is it? Any upgrades? Condition of interior and exterior? Receipts for work done? Auto or manual trans?

I'd say around here (where there aren't that many to begin with), typical range would be $4K-$6K with a stock green on tan SC bringing in closer to $3500 and a black on black bringing in around $6K-$7K.

I think its also relative to where u geographically live... i mean u cant touch one in my area for less than 4500.. and thats a alright one. The other problem is that KBB doesnt keep in mind that they are becoming extremely popular and rare, look in the classifieds in ur area as well as neighboring areas. Keep in mind if ur in the AZ cars usually keep their resale value because u guys dont get the same maintenace problems what cars on the coast's and snowy areas have. One other thing 92-94's, 95-96's, 97-00's will all demand totally different values. 92-94 are usually the ones u see for sale and next would be the 99-00, the hardest ones to find in good condition would be 95-97's. Good luck my friend
