Default Pictures of my SC400 with new BLACK paint and clear!!

Today I took a few pictures of my car with it's new black paint job. I can't believe how shiny it is and it has NOT even been wet sanded or rubbed out yet. I really am glad I decided to stick with TOYOTA BLACK, instead of changing the color to silver. The car's paint sure does look a lot darker than the original coat. I sure hope my DAD like the look of his de-badged rear trunk lid. Oh well, if he doesn't, I guess I can always cut the tabs off the emblems and 3M tape them back on.

i'd assume about $600-1000 for all supplies. It was $560 for all of my dupont clear, color, reducer, activator etc

Looks amazing for being garage done!

question on the prep if you don't mind. how hard was it to remove the windows, both front and back, including the moldings? is it possible to do without damaging them? thanks.

The door windows were no problem but the rear quarter glass is a completely different story. He had just under 6 hours trying to cut out the glass. He said it was epoxyed as well as bolted in from the factory. Here is a list of ALL of the PPG products that I decided to go with. This stuff was not cheap especially the Global Clear Line, their mix ratio is 3:1:1 which left me with a little extra. I talked to my painter later on this evening and he said that he had spent about 7 hours wet sanding the hood and both front fenders with 1500, 2000, and finally 3000 grit sand paper. He said that he than used four different 3M compounds to rub out these 3 panels to a mirror like finish. He said it turned out incredible with a lot of depth. I can't wait to see the final product on Monday after work I'll be going over there to see his progress. This guy is a real PROFESSIONAL when it comes to doing things right the first time. He rubbed out my Supra, and my wife's MDX and did a phenomenal job. I could not get over how much better both black cars looked after he was done with them.
