As far as I know, yes. The only thing that matters in Canada is that it is 15 years or older. When I was car shopping I had a choice between paying 8k (give or take) for a low mileage SC *if* I was lucky enough to find one, or being able to select a Soarer with the qualities I wanted from a wide selection available in Japanese auction houses for around 10k. Considering the GTE was only available in Soarers and the manual transmission was much more common in Soarers it seemed like a no brainer.

Not officially. Only the USA and Japan had the Soarer/SC, the rest are private imports into the countries (like my two were... and yes I have owned two of these unusual Lexus turbo cars ).

You Aussies have some cool cars yourselves, not Lexus cool, but otherwise cool.

Doesn't it come with a V-8?

I thought it was a cool car. I snapped this pic in New Zealand.

How funny, I experienced it completely other way around.. I grew up in Japan and only knew Soarer. Later, I came to U.S. and tried looking for one only to find out that the counterpart of Soarer is Lexus SC. What's worse, they never offered it in TT.

The cool cars are very few and far between... although JDM style is starting to increase (welcome, 2000 ).

Yeah, the Commodore utes have a choice of either a 3.8L V6 or a 5.7L V8, the new ones have a 6.0L V8 in them (they're monsters).

Actually most sc owners could not care less about the emblems. Now as for the engine and gearbox thats different story .1j sc's great cars. We might not have the dated instrument panel or air suspension like the soarer but we do have nice leather seats and GTE engines under the hood here .

Yea on here there are alot of sc's with the soarer emblems. I have the soarer griffin in front of my sc which i got with my engine set. At the local supra/lexus meet i was suprised to see most of the sc's were baged lexus and not soarer, and most of them had gte engines .

Things like the lack of EGR and stuff do not cause any problem at the inspection.
I heard the law in Canada changed in 2008 to be 25 years and older, like US. Did that pass or was it shot down?
