Default Convince me to get an SC300 - New Member - VERY INTERESTED!!!

Hello,

I am fairly new to the forums and have recently got into the whole craze of the SC300.

I also saw the youtube video "SC gone wild."

Once I saw that I was even more suckered into it.

I hope this thread is in the appropriate section I would have to have a locked thread so early on.

Anyways,

I currently own a 1995 Toyota Supra. Its an NA and I love it as my daily. Its a very sporty car and I would never give it up.

I figured I need a daily though I would like to keep the Supra in the garage and stop racking up miles on it (already got 160k+).

So I thought ok, I need to get a DD and was lookin' into the SC300's. It would be fairly easy for me to learn about. Same motor, similar chassis, etc.

But its just not enough to make me buy one. I've been searching for a couple of months now for a 5-speed but obviously those are freaking rare.

Are there any complications with getting a automatic and swapping in a 1JZGTE with a R154 transmission?

I will obviously do my own research but I would love some input from you guys as to the other GREAT things about this car that make you guys on clublexus love it so much!

Thanks,

James

the bad news is that you're going to be told to search by 100 people. The good news is that the switch is pretty simple from what I know especially if they came from a Soarer clip

That is the simplest solution. Problem is finding one that I would want. I am kinda picky about the car/condition.

I don't believe anyone can convince you. All I can tell you is that when I saw one it had more appeal to me than a Supra did, and I like Supras!!! So I bought one

The other option was a CIVIC but then I was thinking about comfort and style.

Civic just doesn't cut the cake.

Please don't take me for some ricer.

Here are some personal car pictures:

1999 Honda Civic EK-K Hatch:

And my current 1995 Toyota Supra:

The only real difference between the NA supra and the SC300 are the looks and stock suspension set-up. Once you mod them the could pretty much end up being the same in alot a ways. So IMO, the question is do you want more luxury or more sporty. Look at it this way, if you get the SC, and decide to sell one or the other, you'll have all the mods to put on the other chassis.

SC's gone wild should have been enough to convince you..

Its actually an EK not an EG same difference though.

The headrests are in my garage I recently got new seats from leatherseats.com:

WRD, I think I want both. That is the reason why I would love the Supra in the garage and a nice comfy Lexus to drive to work.
