Ran my car on US129 (Tail of the Dragon)
Oh boy. I had a ton of fun this past weekend and went with two buddies of mine that own a 2002 GTS Celica and 93 MR2-Turbo with 520BHP.
My car SUCKS at curves.
I had a set of 17" Enkei's with Proxes tires that I bought from someone in the next town over from a news paper listing. I noticed when I pulled them out of my barn from the winter that one tire had a sidewall bulge but I drove it anyway.
Welp on the way to TN my tire blew and I was riding on the OEM steelie for the front passenger wheel (Hilarious).
I will add pictures once I can locate them on my flash drive which will be like an hour.
I want a set of 92-94 SC400 16" wheels so I can put some super grippy tires on them. Anyone have a set or pictures with grippy tires that can handle the dragon?
I am now going to search for a good suspension set up.
Who else has run their SC on the dragon? As far as I know I was the only one who had a Lexus that day on the HWY.

If you're looking for grippier tires, I'd look into something for the 17's you have or even look to an 18" wheel. These cars are too big for a 16 wheel if you want to push it in the corners.

We have an annual Lexus run at the Dragon (date not set yet for 2008), usually have an SC or two.

I say go with 18" wheels. I Have Toyo Proxies "4" I'm guessing they are all season and not the T1r's. 18" 240's (40) on the front, and 275's (35) on the rear. Handles amazing for such a boat of a car. I wouldn't write off the Toyo's, however I'm sure yokes will do better but last about 3 days....also it's still realistic in terms of the ride comfort. Even with pos Megan racing C.O.

Wish I had my SC when I was there! Been through twice, both times with worthless cars while on a trip. Would love to take those curves on with my car. Drop offs are insane in some areas, nothing but trees to stop you in the areas with no rails.
