Default SC & HRE wheels

Which model of HRE wheels, the 540 or the 545's would you put on your coupe? I realize there is a poll in the wheel section, I was just curious to see what you coupe guys had to say.

I'm quite particular to the 445 (attached pic). But of the 5-series wheels, I prefer the 547 and 545, in that order. I don't care too much about the others.

My friend's dad just got 19" chrome HRE 547's on his M5 and I have to say, they are the most beautiful wheels I have ever seen in my life. Those wheels are absolutely perfect-- wheels that are fit for a Lexus ("relentless pursuit of perfection"). This perfection comes at a cost though. He paid $1900 a piece for each wheel.

are you sure it was $1900 a piece? Thats pretty expensive for a wheel unless they were totally customized wheels from HRE themselves.

Most high-end 3piece wheels; like 18x10 or 19x12s don't even cost NEAR that amount. Usually around $2000-$3000 TOTAL

I am seriously considering getting a set of HRE's and selling all the wheels I have laying around. To get a set of 18's and some decent tires it will be aroud $3,800. Yeah, that is expensive, but on the other hand, it is a Lexus not a Civic.

Yes, HRE wheels are that expensive (especially if you go to them directly). There are some places on the web that works directly with HRE and can these custom wheels at a less expensive rate. HRE doesn't mass-produce their wheels -- they make them on demand only. That's why they're so expensive. I read somewhere that they cost anywhere from $1500 per wheel up to over $5000 per wheel, depending on your requirements.

Anyone here have opinions/experiences with putting 18" chrome Zenetti Vegas on an SC? These are the wheels I'm getting because they are relatively cheap....

I don't know what retail is on them, but my buddy has an account with Zenetti and I can get the 18-inch chromes for $290ea. I think he gets 30% off. He has 20-inch Zenetti Mystiks on his GS-4, and they look gorgeous! And I like the Vega design better than Mystiks.

I'll be buying them in a month or two, but I'll see if I can get 8 wheels. Usually he doesn't do this kind of stuff, just don't everybody think I can order 240 wheels.

Hehehe...from HRE's to Zenetti's...talk about not even in the same country much less league...

Peter over at www.wheelexperts.com can get you MUCH better pricing on HRE's...$1900 is kinda high. Even at FULL RETAIL (from HRE), my 20" x 9.5" rear is only $1552 (Brushed centers, high polish lips, clear coat, laser etched center cap)...

But like Moshlub said, they're made per order, never mass produced. They're also 3-piece FORGED wheels...not poured cast wheels (like Zenetti's) and you can customize the offsets (no need to settle for "universal" offsets which may not be optimal for your car) & disk setting (to clear big brake kits)...and you won't see some POS Civic rolling around with them (unlike Zenetti's which a lot of POS cars have cuz they're cheap)...know what I mean...?

I agree with Manny on this. Zenetti's are almost as bad as my cheap a** Konig's! HRE wheels to me are some of the finest wheels out there and they look really sweet. I say go my route and get the best looking cheap wheel, or go the other route and get the HRE which I think is numero uno for the SC.

Peace
