Don't post a reply if you don't have a clue

I just saw someone respond to a question about a pinging problem by telling him to go dyno the car.
I know people don't have to take anyones advice, but We come here to ask for knowledge....We don't want to end up like 3000gt forums...<misinformation on every reply...your more likely to be misinformed than get it right! ..I hope our little section of this forum doesn't go down like that!

There is a lot of static on any forum but misinformation should be rectified by the "peers", despite having to get in to it with a moron who insists they are absolutely 100% correct because they guy in the shop said it was so.
I spent 6 months trying convince a certain Iain Wiltshire (a great "theorist") that he was incorrect about the JDM Soarer TT having "sequential" turbos before he reluctantly agreed he was wrong and they are indeed parrallel. I suppose one of the benefits about being a theorist is that you can always prove you are correct - in theory!
I have had several "debates" here and elswhere that using shallow offset wheels on the SC/Soarer is DANGEROUS!
But to suggest putting a engine suffering from detonation on a dyno (pinking it's called in England), really is one for the Darwin Awards and it is the duty of those in posession of the knowledge to step in and make corrections otherwise it devalues the worth of any forum.
As a forum moderator on TIF, an alleged Soarer "expert" and having many years motor trade experience I do hope that someone else will get in there before I do to correct blatant innacuracies so I dont always look like I am just being "picky" but trying to be accurate for everyones benefit, difficult when someone will not accept that they could be wrong despite the evidence. It's around this point I normally get a warning from the mods about by aggressive tone.

Disinformation is sometimes funny....
Like when a guy Armor-alls his tire tread along with the sidewalls and ends up pitching his car into a tree, or when a guy spray paints his entire brake rotors blue to match his calipers, or when a guy sands his trunk down with 200-grit to remove a light scratch...
Well maybe not funny for them, but certainly funny to read about on other car forums
ps- I have no clue what I'm talking about

So I was detailing my bike the other day and Armor-alled my seat. Dammit I almost fell off the bike at the first curve
