gas prices and you.... what are you doing about it?

Isn't it sad that here we are, talking about SCs while some of us are buying Honda Fits and calling them "Bad Boys"?
Why-oh-why would someone buy a Fit vs. something like a Civic? The difference in invoice on both the Fi Sport and Civic LX is a measly $700. The Fit and Civic get pretty much the same MPG too. The Fit is one of the ugliest cars around while the Civic is much more refined. I did the research mid-last year, test drove a half-dozen cars and bought my wife an LX manual. She averages almost 35 MPG ... but the car cannot compare to my SC400. Driving a Civic or Fit is like existing ... while the SC is like living.

I'll call the Fit a bad boy all day long, I don't give a crap about it, that's the best part. I'll take my SC out when I need to feel like "living"

I've had a few opportunities to pick up some really nice cheap cash cars in the 97-01' range lately. I could drive it during the summer, and then sell it for about the same as I bought it for..
Pros-
cheap
35-40mpg
use 87 octane and about half as much gas all summer
cheaper 'liability' insurance
common cheap parts
lower mileage
Cons-
its not an Sc
might have to fix minor things
maintenance
I don' think it's a bad idea...

I think you must have a crush on me. Having pictures of me saved and all. How cute is that. I wish you still had that sexy picture of you bent over the front of your car in your sig. That was classic sportin your Kmart threads.

well for starters, im doing less rev match/heel toe/double de-cluth, then i try and ease off the gas, and finally i ignor all the street racers
Im also looking to buy a more gas efficient car or a bike.

what am i doing? Riding my bike everywhere and leaving the SC in a garage. The winter? the SC goes in a heated garage and i'm paying for an econobox 4 banger fwd. Might just go ahead and get a motorcycle for when i go off to college though. That or a Vespa
