another just cleahed my headlights post
Like a lot of owners on here, Ive considered buying a whole new headlight assembly because my drivers side is faded and dull. I went to the auto parts store hoping to get the blue cleaner the guy posted the other day from pep-boys, but was not in that area, so I picked up a bottle of Meguires Plastix for around $6.50 I felt like a couple of minutes good rubbing was as good as it was going to get. Both sides are 75% better, and it only took a small amount, probably enough to do 20 sets. I will spend that new headlight money on something else.

PlasticX will definitely improve the appearance of weathered headlights however I find that it still leaves a slight yellow tint and no amount of PlasticX will remove it. Wet sanding will make your headlights look brand new like it was from the factory, literally. So for best results wet sand.

hmm as strange as it sounds i tried using my electric toothbrush to apply bluemagic headlight lens restorer. it worked out well. i used a old toothbrush head and cut it till it was level. the reasoning behind it was i dont have a buffer and i tried the old fashion method. man my arms were tired after one headlight. so i remember that a electric toothbrush does so many strokes per second. the cleaning paste is thinner than toothpaste. so i did it that way. it worked out well. and just wiped it clean and clear with a microfiber cloth. just a thought for those who dont have a buffer and a good electric toothbrush. but yeah its just a thought if someone else wants to try it.

the toothpaste works as a fine sand paper, it lightly scuffs the headlights like using a 2000 grit sandpaper would, which normally after a light wet sand you would want to use the plasticX or a wax on the headlight to buff it out..

one of the best headlight cleaners i have found so far is "Eagle One Never Dull" it's a metal polish with fibers, works wonders on yellow headlights..

Try using the meguiars plastiX cleaner, or even just some kind of carwax on the headlights. (after they are left dull)
