Default What does your SC weigh? Post up lbs.

OK, there is a ton of posts about how to lighten up the weight of these heavy cars, what I never seem to see is what the end results are. This thread is for those that have actually weighed the car. Along with your weight post up what you have done to get it there. If you don’t have a place to weigh it check with your local Farmers Coop or a truck weight station. I have a local one that I can drive on after hours and look thru the window for weight. Don’t forget to subtract the gas, I think the manufactures weight did not include Gas. 1 gallon of gasoline equals 5.8 to 6.5 lbs

Here are the stock numbers posted by Gunnar

OK here goes
97 SC400

3496lbs

Weight I have added
TT front and rear brakes
TT six speed diff and sub frame
Supercharger
2 ½” dual stainless exhaust

Weight I have removed
Swapped factory seats for Recaro’s
6 speed conversion (yes it’s a little lighter)
Light weight drag wheels/tires
Removed stock radiator/hydraulic fan assembly for aluminum/electric
TT spare.

Not as much weight shaving as I had wished for but its 109lbs under stock.

4100 lbs??? wow your car must get smoked by minivans .

If you want detailed specs from Lexus, here they are (just switch year for your car):
http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/1997/1997SCspecs.pdf

I do have a question about this though; what options do they include when weighing the car? See even on our $51,000 97' SC400s, things like the sunroof, traction control, cd changer, even the spoiler were technically optional, even though they were installed on about 99% of all SC400s. When Lexus came up with 3605 lbs does that include these options? If not, our cars probably weighed more like 3670-3680 lbs.

Anyways; here's my car so far:
Stock = 3605
-50 lbs (spare removed)
-2 lbs (jack, tools)
-8 lbs (CD changer)
-60 lbs (JDM non-powered seats, I haven't installed them yet though)
-60 lbs (I never fill my gas tank more than 1/2 way)
Current = 3425 lbs

Adding a weight distro chart would make this one of the most useful threads on CL.

WOW! 3220 with a full interior? Stock seats or any stereo stuff in the car? My car is a '92 too. Maybe I'm a bit off with my 3700lb estimation, lol.

Manual Supra seats (saves about 70-80 lbs.) and other misc. stuff. Just take it to a scale, mine was quite a bit lighter than I was expecting too.
