+1. I still would love to throw an Eaton M90 on my 400 at some point in time. The low end power in the SC400 could use a little help, but the top end isn't horrid.

I preferr to go by the new EPA estimates, not somebodies claim when they drive around town babying there little Yaris. I see OPEC controls your life enough for you to care. Here's my thought.

The past 3 months, I have been thinking of getting a newer car, I own a 1993SC300, and I feel like I should get a performance 4 door sedan, like the 540i/6or the GS400/430. Perhaps if I was younger, I would have no qualms about changing it.

However, being the older person that I am now, I have to justify my purchases more so than ever. My car has 163,000 miles, and I bought it 2.5 years ago with 147,000 miles on the odometer. In the past 2 years, other than oil changes, brake pads and my own modification, I have spent a total of $340 on maintaining the car. $340!!!! This $340 included $60 for the trunk struts, and $30 for the antenna, and $250 for the new wires that go on the driver side wheel well.

I highly doubt that I can ever buy another car with 147k miles and spend so little on maintaining the car in 2.5 years.

That said, I really want to get a newer car, and the 540i/6 sure feels good, but I know my SC300 will have very few problems the next 100,000 miles for sure.

if its one thing im proud about my car, its gotta be the reliability. Once i addressed all the problems she previously had, it has been rock solid. My previous ride's, a stage 2 00' audi s4 and turbo 98 prelude has been nothing but headaches. I'd get a little problem here and there every week which really added up in cost and down time.

Same here! I figure I might as well finish the car, as it's my long term project. I've prob. put about 50 miles on it in the past year. Still on the same tank of gas that cost what seems like almost half last year!!!!

Eventually it'll get the all out motor I want. The WRX is a great balance between mileage and performance for Oregon type of weather if you go anywhere in the snow/gravel/etc.

Ill most likely end up buidling a turbo SC within the next year. Ive looked at 350z's and other sporty cars that are more powerful stock, but there's just somethin about the SC that captivates me. I know its pouring money down the drain, but I plan the keep it and drive the **** outta it We'll see how it goes this next year.

i'm lovin my sc over any car i have owned before, except mabey my 88 Mk1 Mr2SC..

but with gas at 3.89 to 3.94 here in houston, its hurting..

but glad i didnt buy the dodge 2500 diesel...4.25gal...yikes!!

Brian, that is why you gotta TT your V8 SC, or add any FI...Loads of torque, linear power, bloody fast ride, same or better gas mileage when foot not buried in the floorboard...Warning, that won't happen for the first several months...Boosting is too addicting...

Yeah Scott, you gotta love those POS old rides...Like my 94 Accord that I drive with 400,000 plus miles on the original engine...But as soon as my TT is back on the road, I will not be driving the Accord...I guarantee it. Plus, the Carrera 4S will be purchased soon after the SC is completed...Also, forget the Tree Hugging... Hugging Babes is more fun...

i know this is back asswards, but i always wanted a supra tt, bieng that i cant afford it, i searched for a 5mt sc3 to replace one of my current cars. now that i have the sc3 i cant get rid of my other car!. BTW, my other car is a honda of sorts, a 94 Acura Legend Coupe, 6mt. im my short life span (im 26) ive owned 6 cars and only sold 2, one (fully built 91 sentra se-r) to repay a friend for a car i wrecked and the other was a 88 supra n/a. Still own the lex, legend, 89 supra T and an 80 (my first, the mki) supra with a 7mgte swap (almost done). so i dont think i'll be getting rid of the lex unless something major happens like 10$ a gallon, then i'll convert to hydrogen or something. lol (i think hybrids and electric are weak)

I keep my SC300 as a Daily driver since I have a 2001 Audi S4 that ive put my heart and soul into (worked on it all myself, spent months fixing it up), I think I would go nuts if someone did anything to it. I can take the SC3 out without worrying about it, its alittle banged up and has some rust (which will be addressed soon) but i find it much more relaxing to drive. I dont really care about the mileage right now, S4 gets better mpg and is much faster, but I always go to drive the SC300. Ive had my SC for 7 years now and never truely thought about selling it. Hopefully once I get my own business up and running I can retire it from winter duty and use the truck I plan on buying, so the SC can last longer and not rust to death.
