I am curious what was different (if anything) between the 1999 SC300/400 (and earlier), and the 2000 SC300/400.

I was looking at the list of vehicles allowed for import into Canada, and for some reason, they specifically have the 2000 model year SC300 and SC400 on the list of cars not allowed for import and registration.

Maybe there is some other factor involved (eg. paperwork, or maybe no crash test data made available to Canada, etc), but I just thought maybe someone would know a major change that would have led to this.

In 2000, a Vapor recovery system was installed. Also, for paint colors white and purple were dropped. Maroon was re-introduced.

 

The year. Nothing much more exciting than that.......

 

Vapor recovery is on my 99 as well.

This PDF says parts of the recovery have changed, but as far as I know the recovery system itself is the same. I know this: I have a 99 and it has the new fuel evap system.

 

The question you should be asking is "What changed in Canadian law between 99 and 00?"
