Default car value

how much your car is worth ulitmately boils down to one thing:

*How much a buyer is willing to pay*

Kbb is a good reference point, but by no means a solid rule.. unfortunately it doesn't take into account items like custom wheels, suspension mods, or, in your case, a motor swap...

But i agree with the previous postings, it's going to be worth more running than not.

a mildly modified car that's cleanly done, is going to be a lot easier to sell (i learned that the hard way). Because most tuners would (like you) rather do the work themselves..

If you're just trying to turn it quickly, i'd list it for sale as is, and slowly put it back together.. just increase the price as it gets closer and closer to completion.

if you do try to sell it as a project" car, be prepared to deal with lowballers, morons, and every type of dumbass imaginable..

good luck!

if you do decide to do the 2jz swap, there's a decent market for good 1jz motors...

Honestly I can't tell you whether to sell the car or not or what swap, you got to do what feels right for you. I just don't want you to dump money in and then wonder why the car isn't selling for what you want. But just plan out the route that you want to do. Which is what the last owner probably didn't do.

IMO the sc300 is a fun car I luv mine even with some of the mistreatment/neglagence from the last owner. I got in jan and already it's saved my **** so many times.
very wise advice! i love my sc.. the last owner beat it to the point of barely functioning.. But it's slowly being brought back to life. Not to mention the tacky fast and the furious modifications.. like painting parts of the tan interior bright blue

and it's nice to drive a car that isn't a 240sx, rx7 or civic.. Actually had someone at a gas station ask me if the toyota soarer was new for 2009.. lol (no disrespect for the 240sx, rx7 and civic owners)
