I just bought a 1992 sc400 and love it. But the gas door is broken. The plastic piece that sticks out of the gas door broke off. I have a question, is the gas door spring loaded, i mean does the door pop open when the remote lever is pushed? I saw a pic on the forum but it's hard to tell if there is a spring mechanism. Thanks everybody and this is pretty good forum.

It is spring loaded. The door pops open when you push the release button. This is the first time I heard of this happening. You might just get a new door. Ask Aliga on this forom. He has parts available all the time. Good luck and welcome!
