registering a rhd toyota soarer in cali
My friend imported a rhd soarer 2.5 tt over here and we are trying to get it registered. Where do we start? Can anyone give me any useful info? I have a car dealership in san diego by the way. I heard if I throw a dealer plate on the car I can drive it legally. Is this true? Please help. Thanks.

I have no real plans to sell it. But i guess if you made me an offer i can't refuse, i would change my mind. Could you give me some more information on registering it as a kit and or a parts car?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I talked to an attorney in MA, and he has an exempt plate. There are so many ways of doing things. As a matter of fact, he doesn't even have a state driver's license.

Hi everyone,
Pionyentity!!! Get a Soarer dude, then there will be two Filos with Soarers!!!
It depends what model and what spec you buy it with. They went throughout the whole JZZ30 lifespan (1991-2000). In Australia, the twin turbo Soarer ranges from anywhere from $18000 (basic twin turbo auto in average condition) - $70000 (top of the line twin turbo in excellent condition)... remember I'm using Australian currency.
For example, my Soarer is a 2.5GT-TL. In reality it's called the GT Twin Turbo L, and it's the top of the line twin turbo model with all the fruit and gizmos Toyota could ever think of. It has TEMS suspension (city/sport mode), the magnificent intercooled 1JZGTE powerplant, automatic transmission, power everything, foldback n heated mirrors, auto dimming rear view mirror, auto-on headlights, TV/GPS (not working in Australia... yet!!), 17" alloys, velour interior (not many twin turbo's had leather trim), 6-speaker stereo (no subwoofer on my one) etc. etc. etc. Also, it only had nearly 77000kms on it, and it's a 1993 model (no the ODO wasn't turned back)!! and in immaculate condition!!!
If you want to find out more just hit me up!!
BTW... the automatic models are usually cheaper than the manual models as the manuals were very rare in Japan.
