A good trick to see if you have clayed it enough is the plastic bag trick. Take a plastic bag from a grocery store and put your hand inside it and then run it over the paint. Even if it feels smooth to the touch with just your hand on it, more than likely you will feel EVERYTHING when your hand is inside the bag.
I use that trick on many customers of mine who think they don't have anything in their paint and think they clayed enough or don't need to clay at all. One swipe with that bag and they will realize really quickly how good or bad of shape its in.

Awesome tips. Hadn't heard the plastic bag one, but I'm definitely going to try it. Also, thanks for the waxing tip-post clay bar. More pics at dusk yesterday.

Hopefully the plastic glove or bag trick is common knowledge. I use it specifically for customers who think their paint is so clean it doesn't need any clay or want to cheap out on the detail I am offering. One swipe with a glove or bag and their mind quickly changes.

Nice. I couldn't believe how much stuff came off when I did mine a few weeks ago. There's some areas that need to be professionally looked at but all in all a genius invention
