which sc i should buy for daily? 1jz or 98+ sc400?
hi, everyone. i am looking for a sc for daily(save gas)
i did some search i found out those two type sc will get over 20mpg and very fast too.
1.95 sc300 then put 1jz LS brake new paint rims bluetooth double din+bodykits
2.98+ sc400 then rims bluetooth + bumper lips
both car will cost around 10k so my question is which one is better and why? also the insurance will be? how much for 1jz swap in LA CA? anyone knows good place to do it?

I own both an '99 SC400 (UZZ30) and a 1JZ Supra (JZA70).
Both cars feel very different, and alot of it contributing to the motor. People in Socal have to deal with illegals smogs.
Although the 1UZ never leaves me for more power, it just doesn't have the kick of twin turbos. However, should you need a place to work on 1Js in Socal, driftmotion.com is the place to go.
I agree with the rest of the members here. As a toy, go 1J. As a daily, go 1U. A younger car with less abuse is probably a better buy if the price is the same. I own both (and more) since I can't make up my bloody mind.
Good luck.

I'd go 98 if you want resale value and the car isn't going to be a project.
but if you want a project beast, then the 1Jz is a good platform to start, also i think the mpg is better on the 1JZ because of its 2.5 liter displacement
