Default Does this mean I need new door hinges?

I went to open my door today and it wouldnt open all the way, oh **** i said, I saw that the door was touching and rubbing up against the fender where the 'front' of the door is. It scratched some of my paint off and I found that when I pull the door out (as in towards the back of the car) it lets loose and comes out fine, this just happened a few minutes ago and i know that door hinges on SCs are relatively weak compared to the weight of the door.

Well, what do you guys think? Could this be just a bolt that came loose or is this full blown 'new door hinge fever'?

Mine does the same thing. One of the small arms on the hinge wiggles about 2mm, but its just enough to scratch the fender. Im pretty sure you have to replace the whole hinge.

you need hinges, i have a few of you need.

fix it asap, before you damage the paint on the fender and door.

I was in your boat about 3-4 months ago. All I did was get a chisel and wrapped it in electrical tape. When the door was opened slightly, I pried the door more towards the rear of the car. You could definitely use a large flathead or something of the sort; the tape is there so you don't damage your paint (plus electrical was the closest thing around me at the time )

Surprisingly, I've had no rubbing at all since then. Granted, the door does come really close to scraping on the front, though I guess it's like that on all the SCs. I'm assuming that you're hearing a kinda loud popping noise when you open the door fully? Ie, your door is stuck on the front, then force it open and "pops".

If that's your case, I'd definitely say to give it a try (it's free). Just go slow, and work up and down on the front side of the door, not just where it's scraping. GL!
