Default need help with side mirror ECU

I recently purchased a good used ECU for my 95 SC400. I have the 2 plugs undone and the bottom 10mm head bolt out, and cant seem to get on the top bolt with the 10mm wrench. Does anyone know if the top bolt is a diff. size?

Any tips on getting to it? The 2nd bolt. I couldn't even see it when I was down there. I tried for about 30 minutes, before getting all sorts of neck cramps and then just levereged it ontop of the old one. It's sitting pretty still in there, but just knowing that it's not really done right, makes me want to go in and fix it.

what i did for mine was remove the speed cluster and use a wench to remove it from the top. You can't see the bolt from the top, the only way is to feel it. The best tool for removing this bolt is a Reversible Reversible Ratcheting Wrench ( http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...4004000P?mv=rr ). Good Luck!!!

Yeah Im using a 10mm gearwrench, maybe if it was a stubby gearwrench it would work better, because of all the wiring looms surrounding it. Sounds like a good Fathers Day gift to me.

Got the ECU changed out, and now my power side mirrors are working perfectly. Thanks goes to ALGIA for the good used part.Heres how I finally got that last bolt. This is what worked for me, results may very.I was doing this in my garage so I wore only socks because I had to lay on the seat on my back with feet up. Move seat all the way back, and tilt seat-back as far as possible, which is not that far. Then while laying on your back, after removing bottom bolt and unplugging the ECU bend the support bracket with no bolt hole over out of the way. Then pull down with a reasonable force to get the top bolt lower, use the shortest 10mm gear wrench that you have and use left hand and loosen the top bolt, which should now be sideways. Put the new ECU in with bottom bolt and replug.

By following your tip I was able to remove the ECU. I pulled down on the loosen ECU with enough force to deform the upper flange holding the upper bolt thus lowering the unit about an inch+. This exposed the bolt head more and provided just enough working room for a stubby 10mm gear wrench to fit in and remove the bolt. I reached up with the wrench in my left hand to do this.

I purchased a used ECU from Aliga. The first unit he sent was defective but he followed up by sending me a replacement unit that worked.

Thanks for your great tips.
