Well Hello! (56k a.o.k.)
First post here - been a lurker for a couple months. I just traded in my '98 ES300 for a '99 SC300 (and when I say just, I mean like 4 hours ago :P).
First, one last pic of the ES300. I'm so sad she's gone
But out with the old, in with the new..
I'll take her out for a proper photoshoot one of these days. 74k miles, picked her up for $12k. Got $5k for my ES, so it only ran me $7k total
I was also made to feel cool today. As I was filling up my enormous tank with premium fuel, I had a guy come up and walk around my car, telling me how nice it was . Gotta love the ego boost less than an hour after buying it!
A couple questions for you intelligent Lexus folk. Unfortunately, the car didn't come with an owner's manual. Does anyone know where I can buy one? Can I just get one from a Lexus dealership? Also, what the heck are those three buttons on my visor for???
Finally, I was offered a 36k/3year warranty from my bank for $1250 that would pretty much cover anything. The car seems to be in immaculate condition. Should I take it? Or would I just be throwing a cool grand away? My ES was rock solid - owned it for a year with 140k miles and only had to bring it in once so they could reconnect a wire under the passenger seat for the SRS for free.

Congrats..!! Hella nice SC. Not a bad price either. You can pick up a owners manual at the Lexus dealership for about $40. The Three buttons on your driver side sun visor is to program for your garage door opener. Just do a search on how to program it. Its very easy, takes 2 minutes. Need more pics...!!

Not really. The only real thing the SC300 shares with the Supra is its engine and tranny, which a lot of other cars do (IS300, GS300, Toyota Crown, Corona, and the Progres). Now the ES clearly started out as a rebadged, upscale Camry. If you've seen the ES250, you know what I mean. Now that Lexus is starting to move towards AWD, we might finally see the ES break away from its little brother.
