Default Steering wheel motor going out?

Looks like its going kaput! It moves front to back just fine, but not up and down. It will move down about halfway and start making a grinding noise, and then if I make it go up, it will stop and the highest point. It's really irritating because the wheel is a little higher up than I would like it. Is there a manual adjust or will I have to buy a new motor? Sorry if this post is a little incoherent. It's late here.
