Default Respraying 92 Wheels?

Ok, my stocker wheels are really ragged up, ill post pics in a minute, but i was wondering if anyone has done this before, i was thinking about taping off the tires and respraying them black, and pulling off the L symbols on the center caps and respraying them gold because they are like, black now cause the paint is all worn off, has anyone ever done this before and what could i use as a filler for the scratches and stuff, if this is a bad idea tell me lol pics up in a minute

Default Prep is KEY!

The painting is the easy part so to speak. The biggest thing here is the prep making sure those wheels are really clean, degreased etc so you get a good solid adhesion otherwise you'll be doin this every 6 months or sooner...not fun! I've never done this for that reason so others might suggest some cleaning techniques.

I remember when I used to roll on these. I almost did the same thing you are doing. Good luck with the project.

use sand paper to take it down to a smooth surface

just a suggestion you should clean the center cap and put a clear coat on it leave it that way to emphasize the Lexus
