true btw when the fuse blows out is it only that one fuse and nothing else? and which fuse specifically is going out? easier way of diagnosing figure which fuse is out see what systems are on it then start checking the wires at varoius points use a multimeter and have afriend lend a hand will make diagnosing tons easier... electrical is cake just a bit time consuming thats all

Tried unplugging the gauges w/ everything else unplugged and plugged in and still as soon as I shift it pops.

It is fuse 14 on the driver side kick panel (Gauges, O/D) and yes this is the only fuse that is blowing.

this may or may not work, but try a compass. With a circuit breaker (or a i guess that light bulb could work) in the fuse, and the compass will move as you get closer to the short. It works pretty well my teacher at school showed it to us, and he could get shorts down to an inch.

Tried it just b/c I am grasping straws but when you put a compass near any electrical it moves so it isn't very concrete.

We need to iron out the cause to get the solution. Brake isn't it, cluster isn't it, you said you unplugged the electrical from the shift I thought so that means no console lights, no OD plug, no connectors plugged to the shifter?

If the electrical is completely unplugged from the shifter, then the only connection otherwise is from the tranny itself. Perhaps a tranny wire is pinching.

Thanks OLT for sticking with me. It was the connector that plugs in the back of the tranny. The wire loom had come loose from its mounting point and was rubbing on the driveshaft which eventually wore it down to the wire. I cut out about and inch of the bad wire and replaced it and now all is good.

Thanks again!!!!!!
