got her back today im not happy at all i feels like i bought a POS car i took it in as a clean nice car randomly showed up one day my hood was poped and my garage lip had a very clean cut in it the guy said its proly because they nicked something driving it to the garage and they only work on the back of the car i was going to be an **** but the car had one more week in the shop so i left them happy. PROS- the cut and weld looks good body damage is repaired

CONS-

-tail lights dont match the reverse ones almost pink other whitish yellow(otiginal) and they said the pinkish one is new but they wont replace the other it wasnt damaged

- the leather had ink on it i asked wtf is this they said someone proly took a ballpoint pen to it sorry well get it out... they didnt

-wiring harness just tapped with blue tape to keep wires together and then bunched up and left in the trunk

-paint doesnt seem to match they said wait 60 days for paint to cure ill wait the spoiler is orig color the trunk is new paint

-my car has tar under it from construction but there was no hot roads or construction going on when i was driving her home accident happened with around 81767 around there i drove it for the tsx retro fit and to 3 stores to get estimates for repairs car and gave it with a half tank was returned with a quarter tank of gas and 81950 miles someone enjoyed my car
-abs light comes it before i start the car NEVER have i seen it come on before i took it to them
- takes longer to start

-the paint in my trunk runs big drops by my cd player

-i requested nothing being thrown away i wanted to study the 97+tail light and they throw everything away and leave my old cd player in the trunk only because they couldnt get the 6 disk changer out they told me to take it to a audio store or something... it took me 5 min to get it out

-my passenger side door handle is weird makes a crack noise everytime i pull on it

-cut on my pillar by door

they called me thursday around 3pm saying the car was ready for pick up clean and all i went Friday morning it was in the detail shop found the ballpoint pen crap and this great detail job?

you get the point...

Damn dude that sucks. Sucks that some people just don't seem to care about how their product turns out just as long as they can make a buck.

my dad regrets paying/taking it to the top dollar service for this... i told him so certified toyota body repair shop i though i could expect the best but turns out... so dad filed a claim for my little bumper incident and theres a thread somewhere about it its in the same place my car got hit so we got money for that claim 900 some dollars then little bit later this happened claim number 2 the smaller one had a deductible for 300 and the big one a deduct of 500 total 800 so then they wanted 900 back and my dad asks why they say they did the repairs at the shop how efffing stupid can you be? i was like if you did the repairs that means you ordered 2 rear bumpers and painted both pearl white wheres my other bumper but they just disregarded me and kept talking to my dad i mean seriously the damage was in the exact same place how do you fix it twice? customer service -3232132132313231.43 "are you the owners son?" "yea" "well ill talk to the owner and see what he says" i knew more about the car than them"take it to some audio store" they bought all the parts off a 97 sc in the junk yard except the tail light the light was new. 400 for amp and cd changer? please i could get brand name stuff for that price 60 tops for amp and my cd changer was fine just a little dent

insurance company paid for it? You should inform them of the scamming going on from this certified shop, or even contact toyota saying this is the crap that their certified shops are turning out.

If this was an insurance job like you said and they recommeneded the shop or its on their list of preferred shops turn it over to them. Tell them you are NOT happy with the quality of repairs and show them the pics. Most insurance companies stand behind the shops and trust me they carry alot more weight than you or your dad do when requesting re-work. They have the capacity to blast this all through their network about the rep of this shop that will destroy the shops reputation and subsequently their revenue stream.

Also, I have serious doubts about their claim to let the paint "cure" to match. That paint should have been baked when the work was done. What you have to wait for 60days is doing any kind of polish or waxing to the paint but I have never heard of anyone being told to let the paint "cure" and it will match.

Good luck!

most pearl is pretty hard to match, but a good/detail painter can do so, they should repaint/blend the rear spoiler as well. sorry for the incident.

There are bodyshop that just repair insured vehicle for a referral . Thats why, I generally ask the insurance the money from the claim and you can get it fixed / spent the money anyway you want. More work, but it make sure that body shop is on your side, not just fixing the car based on your insurace coverage.

My suggestion: I would bug them until they fixed it correctly.

comming from bodyshop that does both insurance and retail and commercial i can tell you the curing process is bs for color matching, if its off its off.....also some body shops don't bake..the paint does cure but its about a week - 2 weeks but there isn't gonna be a change in color...one thing i'd ask them is if they used the old style paint or the water based paint... as water base is harder to match with..also if you used the ins to cover it and its on their list then your in luck have the adjuster know and come inspect it and point out all the problems... if not its your *** as you decided to not take it to their listed shop.... if thats the case you have to be firm with the body shop and remember they usually get people complaining often so they prolly have thick skin if ya know what i mean, talk to the owner and mention the word possible lawyer.Be nice but firm and blunt and don't give up an inch on them and make sure it comes out the way you want it because as soon as you take it out of their shop they can say you were content enough to take it from their shop. so being blunt and to the point with out losing your cool should make em redo it, and if they still mess with you call a lawyer as its time for a lawsuit......then you take the to another shop get it repaired properly then sue the other shop for time wasted if your dependant on the car, car rental, and cost to repair the car again...
