Default How Hard Is It to Do A RHD Conversion on a SC300???

I am debating on doing this but im not sure what the process is, how hard and costly is it to do? I have a full front half of a 1jz Soarer is this gonna be something I can do later after the engine swap?.........is it legal? I just wanna find out the ins and outs of how this is done

if u do it while u do the engine swap it will be much easier than stretching the harness for lhd, then going to rhd later especially with the jdm 1jz. but no it will be illegal. nobody is supposed to be driving rhd except mailmen, you coudl register your car as a kit car like some r34 importers do. theres a process involved tht im not too sure about though.

it can get costly if #1 you dont have all the parts necessary (if u have a FULL soarer front it should be no problem) #2 if u get caught with it. #3 if u have no clue what yr doing when u take out your dash, steering rack, swapping parts over, etc. #4 if u have a shop do it (not only does it cost u much more money, much more time too)

it takes some getting used to and if you really have thought about it, its not jsut an overnight thing, go for it. and if u have knowledge of doing this.

Just outta curiosity, why would you want to do a RHD conversion? It seems like it would be expensive, time consuming, and the only benefit would be that it would look imported from Europe or Japan. Did you just move here to from outside the US, and its a comfort thing?

Not trying to be down on the idea, just wondering why.

Rarity. I'd love to pull up in a RHD car to a meet. But it's not something at the top of my list.

i did one on my 240, it sucked. i got the front clip for $2600 and for another $2000 they cut off the front of my car and stuck on the clip. it gets a lot of looks, but when u go to a drive thru u have to get out and pick up your food, toll booths suck, no drive up banking.

Ive just always wanted a rhd Soarer, but if it's illigal I dont wanna mess with it because living in California and having it as a daily driver I dont think I want the problems..........Just wondering how hard it would be, I think ill just put the front clip in and forget about the rhd conversion........I just came across the whole front end and said heck why not.......but I didnt know how hard it was going to be

enough money and trouble that would make more sense if you go to japan and import one yourself.

Skyline guys that are RHD pay a pretty big fee to have a paper that allows them to drive on the right side legally here in the US. Those who import the Skylines knows a few tricks to get it.

use the money for some nice wheels or something, maybe bbk front and rear. I think that's more worth it to me IMO

I have a friend who has a R34 and another with an S15 and another with a R33 and they hate to drive them, because when you make left turns from a light you can't see the on-coming traffic if there is another car, or especially a truck or SUV, in front of you.
