Default Key gets hot??

I'm not sure if this is common or if I should be worried, but does anyone else get a ton of hot air from what feels like under the dash on the drivers side on their SC's?

I mean I could have my AC on full blast and I still sweat like crazy from the heat on the drivers side, the passenger side is fine. It does not matter if the vents are open /closed it feels like it is coming from the engine bay.....................almost like the EGR is pushing heat into the cabin some how.

Now the other issue is after driving for about 10-20 minutes when I pull the key out of the ignition it is hot to the touch...........not warm but hot.

Is this common in the SC's?

Yes these are pretty common issues.

Here are some threads that may be able to fix the interior heat:

As for the key issue, I experience it at random times. From my experience usually the shorter the trip, the hotter the key is.

Ok, I guess it is common, thanks for the help. I think I'm going to get an after market tranny cooler once I change trannies.

Kaydee: I get hot even when the AC is on full blast and the passenger is freezing and I'm sweating

If you read through those threads OLT mentions something about pulling the heater core control valve to reduce the heat felt in the cabin.
