you can have blacked out tails as long as there is some sort of a red reflector....
its for safety so people can know exactly where you are....

i think either the 92-94 or the 95-96 tails would look great if you left the solid red part alone, and just blacked out the other half..

Wet sand them until they are clearer. Ask CL if they are clear enough, then clear coat them and call it a day.

your tail lights can be blacked out or tinted, but you must have red reflectors visible from a certian distance(atleast in cali). There are a few cars that come with either all clear or blacked out tails stock from the dealer but if you notice they have red reflectors on the bumpers. also if you tint/paint ur tails the light must be able to shine thru the tint/paint

yeah man, those things are way too dark. Why dont you just go with a slight tint, it would look much better imo and cops wont hassle you.

I agree! I was getting ready to clear a set of 96 lights I picked up but maby I better stick with modding the 97's.

You will see more and more smoked tails over the next year or so, especially on high end cars. That's my word.

Mine have been painted for years now, I've been pulled over probably 4-5 times for them and several times for my window tint. Not a single ticket any one of those times. The light shines through them just fine, but like stated about, there's no red reflection at all. I plan on buffing the paint off one of these days and retinting them just a little. so it's not so noticeable.

I don't know if you can pull that off on a black car...IMO not enough contrast if everything is blacked out...as "stealth" as it looks...not my thang
Looks amazing on white though...haha
