I just had this problem on my SC now.. The Steering Wheel is ALL THE WAY UP and I can't move it down. It goes in and out fine. but when I push it to move the steering wheel down for a more comfortable drive, it just makes this errrrrrr noise and then stops. I don't think the motor is blown, but I don't understand why it seems like it's Jammed? Any ideas on how I can fix this? I tried forcing the wheel down but I didn't want to break anything, the wheel is ridiculously high and I can hardly drive my car.

What needs to be replaced? Is it the motor? Because I'm not sure if it's Jammed or if I do need a replacement. Because when I push it downwards, it makes a jamming sound/noise I'm not sure what the problem is yet.

if you do a search you will find your answer. but to try and save you some hassle, it sounds like the gears for the up/down are stripped. it happens i guess to a few people on occasion.
